I bought a trinidad 14 about 8 months ago. 2 months ago I noticed some flaking off the side of the reel I think it the e.i anti corrosive coating . Does anyone else have the promlem.
Thanks pat
From the sound of it, something isn't right with the anodizing. At only eight months old the reel should still be under manufacturers warranty. So, they should make good, demand to be reimbursed for shipping costs as well. Some retailers will do a straight up exchange, provided you have the receipt. Don't know if you are still fishing or not. But, it shouldn't hinder the overall operation of the reel. Then send it back when you pack it in for the year.

anodization will not flake. It's dyed via electrolysis. It's probably some kind of coating over it flaking off.
