I get all my work done at Tatooville in Linden. Great artists, they work with you on every aspect. They even take into the conture of your body selection to make sure it lays just right.

Neptune Tattoo near the Asbury circle on 35, Dave and Pat run the shop and are both excellent. They both fish as well.

Shotsie Gorman, he isn't tattoing any more but his shop is still on RT 23 in Wayne. He has some real good artists there. Here is the last one he did for me.

Fat Kat Tattoo in Keyport.... Nate the owner did mine. Two years later and it still looks like the day it was done.

Thay second pic has some nice detail.
The bill fish is the most gotten fish tattoo.
Do you ever wonder how many people that have billfish tattoos have actually caught one..

Shooties Tattoo on 23 South in Wayne is awesome. Scotty is the man. He did a portrait of St. Michael for me. It looks like it should be on a prayer card the detail and shading is so good. Great work done in that studio.

Here are the School of tuna and the blue marlin on my back, I'll have to take a better piture in the summer once my wife shaves my hairy back so you can see them better. All of my fish tattoos are over 20 years old and yes, I caught the fish before I had them done.

What style ate you looking for? black and grey vs color vs tribal.

Lot of good shops mentioned...although I need to connect with my artist and have a few reccos based on style.

Ask the shops can do anything, but people still specialize a bit.

shotsies has good artists nice work.

Hear good things about jinx but I didn't like the place...powerhouse is around the corner also good rep.

Tattoville is also a nice shop.

Tribal/scratch/stipple work I goto Joe Molnar...opened his new shop in lyndhurst.

I'm finishing up some tebori, but plan on going to powerhouse, for my pig and rooster tattoos on my feet.

Best advice, go meet some artists and see whom you like.
Good luck

Thanks. Yeah I took him a copy of a painting that Mark Ray did and also took him a bunch of pictures of billfish that I have actually caught for coloring purposes.

So to give my .02 on if the owner of a billfish tat has actually caught one....yeah, I've caught a few ;)
