One story you hear so often is how the rough bottom snags all your high priced bucktails. Here's one way to cut the costs down, and still catch big Fluke! First we start with Sam the Sinker mans lead heads. These are the nicest fixed hook jigs that I have seen. Add a "squid shirt" and you can have a killer bucktail for abut $2-3 ea. I have a relative that fishes these exclusively and has caught 6 fish last month in the 8 lb range, and had won two Fluke tournaments in one weekend using this method.

Nice to have options. I don't want to introduce people(kids) to bucktails at $7 a pop. I also like to use jigs to grab those fat sea bass that hide deep in a wreck but have lost a couple doing it.

Have been using them with a 6 inch grub And a piece of robin strip for the past week. One time in cape may, two times out of barnegat inlet, and once around the hook......all four times catching my limit +. I def would say they work great.

Ant and every lure can work. but all tou heed to do is hang anything off the back of a lead head, squid, gulp, strip bait, etc, the fish will hit them all if you jig agressively.:) Here's a way of doing it for about $3 per bucktail.
