I am really having fun making these. Especially since they are catching fish. Last week the white/green caught A 4 1/2lb seabass and 6 1/2 and 5 1/2lb fluke.
I have learned a lot since my last post. TY all who chimed in.
First thing is that I was using hard as nails , hard as wraps. Regular hard as nails is way better. No need for epoxy.
Also learned how to tie a finish whip instead just of half hitches. Much nicer wraps this way. No little tag end hanging out. I am doing the jigs by hand and the teasers with a tool.
The orange/green was a mistake. It was suppossed to be a different color on top but cooking it changed the color. I like it better this way.
All the white is super glow. The eyes on the pink/white and orange/green are glow. I like the gold flash on the orange/green the best. Matches the gulp nuclear chicken nicely. And the pink/white also matches the gulp.

Thanks Kevin. Thats why I asked about yours. I did not want you to think I was stealing. I baked mine the night before you posted. When they changed color I was not sure I liked them till you posted up your jigs next to the gulp.

YOU WERENT TAKING ANYTHING FROM ME, LOOKS GREAT THOUGH.
THE HOLO FLASH LOOKS GOOD ON THE SIDES. YOU NEED TO GET A FEW "KRYSTAL FLASH" MODELS.
KEEP THE PICS COMING, THATS SOME OF THE NICEST BUCKTAILS I"VE SEEN OUT THERE.

Mako nice job on the jigs. I have an article in the tips I use a loop to finish the tie ( old hands :) )
Take a look easy to make and it works

Mako, look for a Mustad 34091 5/0 or 6/0 for the ball jigs. If you stop in I'll give you a few. With the smaller jigs 1-4 oz you might get better hook ups.
The Gap is a little smaller than the siwash, allowing the point of the hook to pull closer 'in line', the shank a little longer, should allow a larger variety of grub tail sizes. they tie easy as well.
Tropics, good line of pics. I just noticed the "pull through" Thats how I tie off. I never get that tie off knot down right, so the loop makes it so easy. I like the bead on it. I assume thats so that if you drop it you can find it!!!

Kevin yes the bead helps find it especially wrapping as many as you do. Old eyes and hands need all the help they can get.:D

Tropics Ty for the link. I will try the finish loop method.i guess you are wrapping the last wraps over the loop and then pulling the end through under those wraps? How many times do you wrap over the loop?

Kevin thanks for the info and offer. I will look into the hooks. I mostly use six and eight oz balls.

On a side note my jigs took a beating yesterday and the paint and hair held up great. Pro tec is way way way better than harbor freights. The lead gets beat up but the paint doesnt flake off. Eyes also stayed on this time so the epoxy did the trick.

Mako I use 10 to 12 wraps over the loop pull it threw snug it up and trim.
