Hit the big river for a couple hours today. Fished from 1130-130, fishing off the rocks launching giant nite crawlers into a 35 ft deep hole. Spots real popular with the locals, its a swimming hole but it also holds channels, flatheads, stripers, walleye and other creatures of the deep. Its the DEEPEST stretch of river in this area. Just felt like dead sticking today so thats what I did. Managed to get up 1 healthy CHANNEL CAT at 6lbs. 23 inches long. This was a FAT LIL KITTY considering he was only 23 inches. There was another group of guys there fishing chicken livers, they caught small channel cats and stripers 6-10 inches on the livers. This spot is AWESOME at night!!! I must add that I had 2 other run offs but missed em, oh well, thats fishing. Do you know where I fished today??? GOOD TIMES, TIGHT LINES!!!:D

Nice Kitty!! Havnt got one in a while myself.
I actually talked to friend today who may be coming in from out of state. Asked about the fishing and, being an avid cat fishermen, asked specifically about flatheads and where to fish for them. Are they anywhere else besides the D?

I would definitely go on the Delaware for them at night. Live bait, whatever swims in the river. I don't think they've invaded any other rivers, YET!!1

I know where you were, that's my back yard. You can catch almost anything in the big D. There's a hatchery not far from there, that lost tiger trout in the river in one of the floods a few years back. My son's friend caught a large one this spring 20+ inches.:D

Pincher's Point!!! Mouth of the Pohat runs in there just a bit north of those rocks the hatchery is just a little farther north. Some big stripers came from the mouth of the Pohat.

Flatcreek, I knew you would chime in. Your backyard is my favorite place to fish. There are a ton of trout in the Delaware thanx to all the flooding in previous years. Fun to catch trout and also they're a great food source for all the big monsters in the river! TIGHT LINES!!!
