Also can you bring a kayak on merril creek?

As far as bait goes, Netcong bait and boat on Lake Musconetcong is where we hit, they open at 5 sharp.
Maybe someone else has a better place?

Thanks Wilson,
I have a 12 foot jon boat/ electric motor. With life jackets coast guard approved, whistle, registration is complete.
Question do I need a fire extinguisher mounted?
Also for the kayaks, does anyone know what a factory installed floatation device is on a kayak? the website states:Kayaks must be at least 9 feet in length and contain some type of factory-installed flotation. Thanks

No fire extinguisher. I think they mean your kayak must not sink if rolled over.
Do you have foam under the seat or a double hull with foam sandwich?

Thanks Wilson,
Glad I don't need to instal fire extinguisher on the jon.
About the Kayak. I will be wearing a coast guard approved pfd, I use a sit on top kayak, if rolled will not sink. Never heard of foam installation on a plastic kayak.
Perhaps if someone has used a kayak out there they can reply about the regs
thanks

sorry for all the questions,
First time out with the jon boat. Just got it registered. The dmv guy said I don't need to change my license with boat stamped on it just as long as I have my boat safety card on me, anyone know details about this for fresh water?
thanks
As long as you have your safety card your good to go.

Thanks Wilson,
Never heard of foam installation on a plastic kayak.
My 16 ft Old Town, Loon- cockpit style tandem kayak, has 2 foam filled seats and is made from layered ABS plastic with a foam core.

I kayak at Merrill Creek a lot in the summer. They just want you to have a coast guard approved life jacket on when you launch. Beautiful water, especially early in the day before the wind kicks in. Enjoy

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.......... But I'm pretty sure u need the boater safety certificate AND the non-tidal waters endorsement on your license. Mine says "class d boat". That's as far as the Jboat is concerned, the yak I have no idea.
