Fish the pads at the back of the pond! Super Fluke... titch the pads, let it fall at the end...one more titch...period! My PB @ 7+ lbs in NJ there and all the smaller ones you can weed through till the heat kicks in when ya got the DEAD SEA. Fall brings em back, same pattern. Look out for the freshwater bluefish (pickerel) and the occasional pike which I've seen in the past exploding on new hatchlings of geese in the shallows in early spring:cool:

I'm going to fish from the shoreline since I don't have a boat. Is that ok, or am I wasting my time?

There are a few spots near the dam that hold fish. There is a trail starting there that has multiple places to wet a line. The upper part of the lake where all the pads are really at has limited access without a boat. Suggest an investment in either a canoe, kayak, or even a boat if you want to fish there often.
In my experience, Farrington is productive spring and fall and the dead sea in the heat of the summer...just saying...unless you like to catch lots of sunnies

Thanks Lunker. I'll give Farrington a shot before it becomes the "Dead Sea."
Can't invest on a watercraft at this point. I live in a small place in Bayonne with no garage/storage.
