Hey guys,
Went out again for some research tagging fish. We ended up tagging a bunch of Alosas but no shad... Our last catch was a huge Walleye.

Great vid and very nice 'eye.
No one seems to know, so I figure I'll give it another shot. Where are these Walleye coming from? Does the state stock them in the Raritan or are they making their way from somewhere else? As far as I know, all the bodies of water that receive Walleye are far north of the Raritan.

They are naturally there... No need to stock them. Once a fish has populated an area, that population will be the most stable and largest. Stocking fish will just lower the population size in the end due to competition for habitat space and food.
Fish get into water systems via tributaries, birds, and floods. The Delaware river connects to the Raritan via the D&R Canal and the Delaware has a healthy stock of Walley as well so they could have traveled from there.
