with a few posts here regarding Snakeheads...
PLEASE be sure that a Snakehead is a Snakehead and not the very similar Bowfin that is a NATIVE species before "killing" the fish!
The current NJFFD clearly shows the difference (page 40)
Kill the Snakehead and release the bowfin...When caught they look very similar and the anal fin appears to be the diagnostic marker...see page 40 above

either way i'm eating it! snakehead are bad for the ecosystem so i am doing my civic duty and a bowfins the closest i am getting to eating a dinosaur! :)

Bowfin is not very tasty is my understanding a florda fellow call it a plank fish... Cook in on a board over the fire for 20 mins then scrape tge fish off and eat the plank.. Up to u had snakehead in florida cant remember if it was ne good
