It's that time of the year...for lipless crankbaits - here's a story on a great lure for largemouth bass:

Nice article. These lures may be a great choice for cold water, but they catch bass all year.

The "rat' is an awesome lure. When things are tough I go to old tried and true... a white Rooster Tail, another lure of LMB that keeps on giving time after time after time......

If I'm visiting a bass lake for the first time, the first thing I normally tie on is a #2 silver Mepps spinner.

wasnt planning on hitting the lake today but woke up and decided to go out, ended up landing 2 NICE chunks on rats...was shocked i got anything considering the temp (was 38 when i got up there and no idea what the water was). was a bunch of fish breaching the surface as well which was VERY odd for this time of year

The season has been extended a bit because of the milder temps and some spacing between the storms. The seasonally higher freshwater temps and sunny days give a shot for some more great action.

As some here have suggested, there are some other good late season presentations as well. Don't overlook the creme worm, which is a small rigged worm on a spinner, and the old school rubber worm, worked slowly on the bottom. I had a friend I used to fish Split Rock with, he would use a purple or black worm 80% of the time and would outfish most of the guys we met on any particular day....

Great report and pics, guys.
