Got up this morning around 4 am and since saltwater fishing seemed out of the question, we decided we would go freshwater fishing. We decided we would head down to Rainbow and have Sheperds Mills as a back up plan. When we got to Rainbow, there was a trailer parked there already at 6:30 am:eek: . Glad to see we weren't the only nutjobs out there today:D . We took one look at Rainbow and realize it would be way too tough to fish. So we headed to Sheperds Mills Pond. We get to Sheperds Mills and launch the boat at 7:45 am. Two bad things happed. First, the bar you attach the trailer line to popped out. Next when my dad steps on the boat, the board that my seat is mounted on cracked which made things tougher. It was wet, windy, cold, and overall miserable. The fishing was OK considering the conditions. Im sure if we had less rain and wind we would have had a very good day. Conditions also were deteriorating. We got off the lake at 9:45 am. By the time we got off the lake, it began to sleet. We combined for 9 bass. Senkos and unbelieveably topwater worked. By the time we got home, there was a fine coating of sleet on the ground. Although it was a tough day, it was absolutely amazing catching bass on topwater during a frigid late October noreaster. Unfortunately, not only will we be restricted to shore fishing for the rest of the year, we are now done with our boat:( . Going to do some work on it, sell it, and hopefully upgrade to something better by next spring. Overall, it was a very interesting day to say the least:cool: .

Glad to hear you got out and caught some

despite the snow, they will still be feeding, so it isnt over yet, just too early. Sorry for the boat problems. My only problem is getting the boat out of the garage and on the lake

It started snowing at our place by 10 am and just kept coming. lost a tree in the front yard due to the heavy stuff

Was snowing right into nightfall here, not sure if it is now. Again, we probaly would have done much better without the wind and rain even if it was just as cold. Finally put the boat out of it's misery, she didn't even have her head sticking out of the grave:eek: . OUCH as far as the tree goes, the ones in my yard were cut down a long time ago to avoid just that kind of thing.
