Everything fine here in Edison. Power stayed on all night and thankfully so did the sump pumps in the basement. A few puddles in the basement got up with shop vac and a big tree limb fell by were my camper is usually parked .
Pulled the boat on Friday so still waiting to find out how it we made out there. Talked to some people who left their boats in Leonardo State Marina and everyone made it through. One boat was listing a bit but that might be because of how it was tied up.
Heard that there is a breach from the Shrewsbury River to the Atlantic on Sandy Hook but not sure if that is true or not.
Hope everything went well for every one. Looks like we got lucky with this storm.

Just took a quick ride around. EVERYTHING is closed. Surprised to see Home Depot parking lot empty.
Trees down and broken limbs everywhere. Spotty power outages in Matawan, Aberdeen, Keyport and Hazlet.
Water receded surprisingly quick by KMB/Browns/Wagners. By noon Front St and area parking lots were clear of water. Boats still at the dock seemed to fare well.
2 blow boats broke loose from KYC moorings and are up on Cliffwood Beach.
Overall it could of been alot worse.

Gov. said, Get the hell off the roads!" Maybe go to the beach?
Got some wind last night, a few branches down, power off for about 10 minutes. From what I say on FB it looks like there is a bigger problem up north with rivers flash flooding?

Up here in Morris County we had a lot of rain last night. I might have to stock the pond that appeared in my back yard :p Its actually getting windier now with some pretty good gusts. Hope no trees come down:eek: Still have power. Heard Hopactcong, Dover and Morristown lost power during the night.
All in all seems like we dodged the bullet on this one

Moved my boat from my slip at Brielle Marine Basin to the dock at my house on a lagoon in Point Pleasant west of Canal just off Northern Barnegat Bay.
At high tide this morning water rose above my lower dock (as you can see in photo) about 4 feet higher than normal but fared well. No damage to our house either. I consider myself very fortunate. No power out either - very lucky! Hope it works out well for all!
Hope Brielle Marine Basin fared well - would like to move it back to that slip tomorrow if possible.

Oceanport had some down trees and flooding by the river and creeks. My backyard was flooded at high tide in the River by me (10am). Stopped just inches short of flooding my garage and taking out my central air unit. Very lucky! Many houses on the river closer to Monmouth Beach had major flooding. Flooding during the '92 storm was more than 18" higher than this storm.

I just got power in the Herbetsville section in Brick.
A lot of trees and branches down.
Took a ride down to Point Pleasant and you can not go east of route 35 police at every road. still very windy 35-40 mph winds here
South Branch and Musky rivers are running super high. High bridge residents evacuated below Lake Solitude Dam on South Branch due to the instability of the dam that is being rehabed. Have never seen the South Branch this high. Twp rescue wrokers rescued this guy from the 513/517/24 intersection here in LV.

Lost power around 8:30am and just got it back now (5:30pm) not bad all things considered but still, God bless the JCP&L dudes! All the rivers and streams up here are over their banks by no small margin and trees of all sizes are down everywhere. Just outside Hackettstown where I work a dam let go along the Musconetcong and roads are closed due to flooding...lots of trees down also closing roads and It will still be gusting pretty bad for a few more hours...what a Cluster F. hope the majority of the damage is over and not too many peeps got hurt/killed.
Good luck to all, be safe and don't take any chances.

I think suburbs may have fared worse than the shore - especially those near major rivers. I'm in Essex County and some very large trees fell all over the place - the waterlogged ground brought them down. Then when I thought it was over, the wind gusts kicked in late this afternoon dropping more trees. It was a scary, nasty night & day. Still getting the gusts here. More wind after the rain than at the height of the storm.
Watching the news people off and on all night and the way they were talking & relentlessly hyping . . . some of them should be in jail.

Swimming River Road, between Middletown & Tinton Falls is now good for swimming, resivoir overflowing big time. Also the short portion of NavesinkRiver Rd., between Hwy 35 & Nutswamp Rd, was flooded due to Poricy Pond overflow. I saw someplace that the road is closed again. Also, Hubbard Rd. overflow from Shadow Lake caused road to cave in.
River Plaza Marina floating docks are gone. Not sure how Red Bank Marina made out. Power on the bayshorre side of Middletown gradually being restored. I was told crossing hwy 36 is a lot of fun with most traffic signals out.

Water on first floor (house on slab). Wet carpets and soggy couple boxes in the garage. Not complaining at all with stories I've been hearing. Sounds like most people dodged this bullet.

Just got back spending most of the day pumping out my rental property in rahway. Rahway is a disaster area. Most roads were closed this morning all flooded. Trees down on roads and houses. St. Georges Ave is still closed.
Never had my little house flood till today, even in Floyd.
Sump pump held up till power went out, but I thought it would be OK when high tide passed at nine this morning. Then the river came down the street and filled the basement to the top... in only a few minutes. What a mess!
To top things off the neighbor thought no one would know about the covered up old oil tank from years ago. Oil slick and stench were everywhere. The Union County haz mat teams were there and I can expect the EPA to stop by tomorrow. The SOB's home has been in foreclosure for over a year (they are still living there tho).
I should have fun getting blood out of that stone.
Firemen said they have no intention on restoring power for a week. Basements have to be all pumped out and cleared first.
I have two people (both family) who went out of way to save my azz with pumps and generators. I am soooo grateful right now

Belmar and Spring Lake both lost huge sections of their boardwalks, but the majority of the marinas in the area were fine. Police & fire crews were keeping sightseers to the West side of Rt. 35 in belmar yesterday as many sections of the boardwalk were completely washed-out or damaged.
Highlands was still flooded/closed as of yesterday morning, however, all boats in the Marina on The Bay and Clam Hut lots were fine with no observed or reported damage.
The new bridge over the Shrewsbury was still closed yesterday afternoon, so I didn't get to see how Sea Bright, Long Branch & Monmouth Beach made out, but based on how the river looked, there may be some truth to the claim that the river and the ocean got to meet each other on Rt. 36.

When I saw the clear forecast for today, I wasnt so much excited about having a nice day finally as being able to get a clear view of what the water did during the storm! In a word.. it looks COLD. there is 60.2 degree SST at CC and 64.4 in the hudson.
Of course, this will all have warmed up a bunch by later this week. And the warm that seems to be sitting about 20 miles east of the Edge should start swirling in as the winds normalize as well.
Much more interesting to me is to see a true color shot to see what became of The Bloom and to see how bad the runoff stuff is near the inlets (or outlets..) But I can't find one available just yet.
Hopefully this storm was a reset button for the inshore bluefin fishery.

Power went down on the North side of New Egypt around 10:00 pm Saturday night . Our power came back up around 11:00 am this morning . Around 37 hours without power . My area of Long Branch just got power out. I was out of town but apparently we lost power at 10:00pm on Saturday. Luckily I spent 20 mins w/o power, then went to pick of Chinese food and found the power back on. Just lost a few things from my freezer. Parents just got back power in Rumson around 6:30. No damage there but lots of trees down on surrounding streets. Pretty sad given the relative weakness of the storm. If ever a Cat 3 makes landfall in the area, I have a feeling power will be out for weeks.
