Used to go up there 20 yrs ago, it was a blast. Problem was it got too crowded, fishing shoulder to shoulder while standing in the river. Was like doing weekend PB fishing.

i went once, couldnt believe it was more crowded than any party boat and a much more disjointed scene. Having said that a 20 lb fish on the end of the line jumping out of the water still cant be beat no matter the location but I never went back. so many fish right here to catch and have fun with.

hmmmmmm, my friends are up there right now. The lower salmon river is doing well with fish, the LFZ, lower fly zone is stacked with fish. You look down off the bridge in Altmar and all you see is fins. The water in Oswego is wayyyyy to low but the guys fishing off the highwall are having a great year the salmon are all schooled up against the wall. Guys fishing power house pool are also doing very well. Its just the beginning and there has not been a huge run yet. Wait until the temps drop and we get a lil rain up there, its going to be INSANE. This is a live report from 3 buddies of mine up there right now!!!

My buddies had there rods stolen out of the back of there truck last nite . Make sure you have your spare rods and stuff locked up. The economy in salmon country sucks and the petty thieves seem to be coming out of the woodwork more and more as each year passes. Plus the fact that the college is right there doesnt make it better, bunch of drunk dumb college kids or hillbillies lookn for extra cash so they break into trucks and take everything!!! BE SAFE LOCK UP YOUR GEAR OR BRING IT IN THE ROOM WITH YOU!!!
