Hit Clark's Pond this morning. Got on the water at 5:30 pm. It was a graveyard out there:eek: . Very few swirls, basically it was DEAD. We got off the lake at 6:30 am with not even a blowup. We headed over to Sheperds Mills against better judgement knowing these fish are going to wise up.
Got on Sheperds Mills at 7:00 am. We had poor conditions(sun,heat, and towards the end,wind). We had poor fishing by Sheperds Mills standards. At 10:00 am we left the lake. We caught 8 bass and 1 pickeral. 9 fish in 3 hours. Big fish was a 2 lb. bass. All on topwaters. Most fish were in the slop along the back shoreline. Even worse we messed up the motor:( .We had to paddle back to the dock cutting the trip a half hour short. Tough day.
Overall, it was a dissapointing morning. It wasn't terrible fishing but was hoping for more. Kind of ironic how I write an article on topwater fishing and put it the Fishing Tips section, then the next time I go fishing I do poorly topwater fishing:eek: . If we can fix the motor, we will be fishing Stone Tavern tommorow morning.
