hit the local pond today knowing they were stocking it.....got there at 8am thinking the place be packed.....not.....talked to a guy said the stocking truck wont get here til after 1030.......by 11 still no truck and 1 small bass to show.

Truck shows up at about 1130.......fun watching the people run to where they dumped the fish in....they dump a few net fulls in across from me....and people rushed to where i was fishing.....was like ok fine......made a move 20 feet to the right.

Than.....got one, next cast got another, third cast number 3.....people across the lake what you using....worms. nothing for about 15 minutes

A guy shows up with his little 3 year old god son......this is priceless

the next 3 cast I make i hook up.....each time giving my rod to this little boy...watching him land all 3 fish...the smile on his face I will never forget

Would love to hear the stories he told his Mom and Dad when he got home!!

So to all you fishermen out there if there a little kid around.....do what I did and make his day......it did mine seeing that smile from ear to ear!!!!!

Funny the long lasting effect, he is gonna, eat, sleep, dream fish from now on for the rest of his life, spending thousands of dollars on fishing equiptment.

Got the kid hooked.........better than PS2 or drugs, glad you did what you did. GREAT REPORT.

Yeah, andy, they won't get a PS2, but they'll get an xbox, laptop, iphone, and anything else they can to look at fishing videos, and fishing games... etc. hahahah

reviving and old thread, sifting through doing my homework..

i was just there last tuesday, from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm with my son, i managed to catch a 6 inch largemouth on a spinner , right by the little bridge...it was the hot 90 degree day also, but i had to cast somewhere other than the passaic river...

just got in from the pond again today, while my son met up with his pro scooter friends, i fished the pond from 11:30 to about 1:30 when the rain started, LMB were biting today , landed 7 ranging from fishtank size 5-6 inches to about 16 inches, on a wacky rigged black with red sparkled senko...great way to kill a couple hours...got a few pics on my sons phone...

I was there last night from 730-9 and caught 1 LMB about 7-8". texas rigged senko that he ripped up. caught him as I was reeling in on the island right off the rocks. I haven't found a decent spot on that pond.

my son caught a bunch of sunnies

Great thing you did...so glad you brought this thread back to life. It's so important to get a kid hooked early and they will be there forever. My hat gets tiped to you and may you always have tight lines!

thanks buddy, my son is 11, he enjoys it for the most part, but after an hour or two, if hes catching fish or not, hes ready to go, so i let him scooter around with his friends while i knock out another hour or more fishing around...

that's great, and for me...not so good. maybe my senko is too large. will try a smaller one. The only place I've had luck is around the gazebo on the little island thing near the rocks. then again I haven't tried any other places.

u mean the gazebo u have to walk over the the lil bridge to get to, or the other at the far end....i have my most luck by the far end of the pond, both left and right side of the gazebo...

Yeah, the one that you have to cross the little bridge to get to. Sad to say but I never tried that playground side. I might be looking to go tonight if its not to muggy by the time I get home.
