Hit the North Branch with the rain coming down today and what a mess. :(

Water was high and very fast, I couldn't get to the middle of the river in fear of getting swept away or one of the many trees and limbs floating downstream taking me out.

Worse, I went to step into what I thought was a shallow creek and slipped and fell into a 3 foot deep hole and got waterlogged inside my waders pretty bad.

Not a good day, tomorrow at RVR and hopefully dryer clothes.

I didn't have a wading stick but don't think it would have helped me on this one. I thought it was at most 1 foot deep and put all my weight towards my front foot and just went down with the mud and not anticipating how deep it was.

Fortunately nobody was there to have a laugh at my expense. A wading stick might be a prudent purchase at some point.

Get an old ski pole, Wilson gave me one, it works great.

Use the stick as a blind mans cane tap, tap.... watch out!
