Actually started @ 8AM first time I ever decided on this approach in over thirty seasons.
Plenty of guys initially then about noon all thinned out which is when I usually strt. Water quality good and trout where on the hardware but not solid ,I went 7 for 12 in the AM then switched over to flies. I had observed a few anglers catching quite well on nymphs so I joined em'. Water temp 40 !
Got 3 for 6 in the PM on the bugs,Sunday lost a good bow in a rough spot got three for the day missed about four all fly fishing Sunday. Nymphs sparsley dressed March Brn's free drift w/ float. I had to trial & error this approach since I haven't actively fly fished for trout locally in several seaons unless I'm invited on private water.
I'll contuine to fly fish in home state of PA, this stream has silod bug activity, leavin' in a few to give it another shot.
