Hit Mirror Lake today from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm. When we got there, we soon realized there was a bass tournament going on. They defintely hampered our fishing but at least they weren't rude or violent:eek: . We worked every part of the lake except for the back. 2 torunament guys said they had some pickeral up there. The water(and the air) was cold, there was too much pressure on the lake, and we did poorly. My dad had 4 dink perch and 1 crappie and I had 1 pickeral. I had a nice pickeral or bass on for a couple seconds but the hook popped out. Hopefully, we'll do better on Tuesday. Honestly, this has been the WORST March for me freshwater wise. Last year, I had 20 to almost 60 fish days on Pemberton before they closed it and a 25 fish day on Mirror around the same time as today last year. This has to be the absloute latest me and my dad have gone without catching our first bass of the year. In years past, both me and my dad have gotten our first bass in January. Of course, we were also shore fishing later than ever. We used to do a day or 2 in April shore fishing for kicks but we have never gone this long just shore fishing. Hopefully, my luck will turn around on Tuesday. Sorry about the rant, just needed to blow off steam.

Best time to fish is during a tournament, it shows what kind of fisherman you are. Gotta upgrade and change tactics and then one day you can sell the fish you catch to the guys fishing the tourney. Everything is a test of common sense, get it done AJ change tactics!!!

That lake is very frustrating to say the least. I haven't had any consistent success there the last 2yrs I've been trying. Hate to give up on it because it looks so promising.

Once you figure it out you will catch fish there as long as the conditions are OK. It's not a lake you want to fish during a tournament but I have seen worse. Fastedddie, I am not targeting bass, I am targeting everything swimming in the lake(pickeral, bass, crappie, perch, and sunfish). I really do not believe in tournament angling in itself, I think it causes 30 times more harm than good, especially on a lake under 500 acres. I really don't feel like competing with them, even if they aren't the aggresive kind that are willing to cause physical harm to non tournament anglers. Sorry if I offended you, that's how I feel. By the way, I am guessing very few fish were caught in that tournament, unless they fished into the afternoon when the water warmed up. Gonna give it another try Tuesday afternoon, hopefully the water will have warmed up by then
