I have a question. Are you allowed to fish Spring Lake? I was told no but don't they stock it with trout. If so what other fish are present? I am looking somewhere close to mess around after work. Possibly wreck pond. Sorry if my questions are dumb but I am not a freshwater fisherman....YET :)

If they stock it, there should be signs up saying that it's a trout stocked water and what the closure is. Check out the Forge Pond in Toms River.

Spring Lake does get stocked, closed until Opening Day.

Give lakes Shenandoah and Carasaljo in Lakewood a try; good spot for bass and pickerel. FYI, Shenandoah gets stocked and is C&R only on trout during the closure period, but you can still fish it.
