fishing while stocking '?'

im a 100% C&R so my question is this...what actually happens to you if youre 'caught' fishing during these 2 weeks theyre stocking? told to leave? FL revoked? anything?

Revoked, then tackle taken. Like we said, if you go out in May they are still stocking and the streams are empty because everyone beat feet for stripers and blues !! Find a TCA and have at it now, the only game in town till the opener.

and yes, i am a n00b at this...still reading a lot and learning a BUNCH...i like fishing cuz i get to escape and not have to pay anything for it (other than the FL fee)...whether i catch or not, its worth the trip

Year Round Trout Consevation Area.

Only artficial lures allowed. Fishing is permitted during the spring in season closure which apply to the river. All trout caught during these periods must be released immediately.

Musconetcong River: Point Mountain Stretch

Raritan river South branch: Ken Lockwood Gorge

Raritan river South branch: Claremont Stretch

Toms River:

Then you get into your Seasonal TCA's

Paquannock and Pequest rivers. It gets more complicated from here, I suggest you pick up the 2011 Freshwater Fishing Issue.

There are also many ponds, and lakes that are open to fishing. All non-stocked and some stocked lakes are still open. All trout caught must be released til the opener though.

If caught fishing in Closed waters, your equipment is confiscated and you are issued a summons. Go to court and you can then get your gear back after paying your fines...

Dont forget Round Valley is open year round and they have the Trophy Trout stocking this weekend--- all fish in excess of 24"
