To use or not to? Use of hydrofoil on outboard motor.

I have them. They make the boat plane marginally better, but they're not the magic devices the manufacturers make them out to be. I'd get Smart Tabs if I wasn't so cheap. :D

I use one. They work nice for me, but I only have a 17' aluminum boat. I had the smart tabs but they slowed the boat down even on the softest setting. They really made the boat handle well though.

used them on a 130 hp on a 21' boat....liked them alot

I've used them and performance seemed marginally better. IMO not worth it

They are good for cracking your cavitation plate... that's about it. :mad:

Get some Bennet Sport tabs.
Hydrofoils are crap.

Tabs are where it's at.

HUGE difference on my boat when I installed them after 1st season.
