Been marking crappie in deeper water for the last few weeks, they finally moved in. Had a good bite today, big fish was a 16 3/4" fish, 2.4 lbs or 2 lbs. 7 ozs. Released the big girl after a quick pic and weight. Dropped one at the boat which was easily 3+ lbs. Kept a few for fish tacos and released many others. Few pics.

If this is LH, have you come across any of the recently stocked trout ?

BD thanks, had to wait them out to the afternoon for the water temps to rise a few degrees when they finally moved in and turned on.

Andy it wasn't LH. And it wasn't this place either although I think trout are being stocked there this season:eek:. Both sides closed, what a mess this has turned into.

Thank guys. Weather these next few days will most likely delay the spawn and cause the females to stage in deeper water so may take a week or so for the spawn to be in full gear. Mike is a fantastic chef, pic of the final product. Blackened crappie with feta, tomatoes, arugula cooked in butter and avocado oil with thousand islands dressing and a nice glass of red, or 2 or 3! They're an incredibly good tasting fish.
