We went to splitrock res to celebrate kevin's birthday today and we fished for yellow perch. We found them in 18' to 28' deep near a hole that i like to fish for them we used tip-ups with shiners and a jig rod with a jiggin rap to get them. the fish were 11" to 13.5" the big perch was 1lb3oz and the smaller ones were14oz we got other fish that were smaller like 7 to 10" but we culled them back to the lake to fight another day. the ice was 7" to 8" in the place we fished. i like going to old home waters to get some nice fish and take in some nice views of the peaceful outdoors. that place has good memories for me as i grew up fishing that place as a kid.

Some beauties Badger! Congrats, some good dinners there. Have read YP will suspend in the winter in holes with steep drop offs near shallow water. If you don't mind me asking, were the fish you caught mostly on the bottom above vegetation or some kind of structure or were they suspended in the water column.

Was the parking lot clean ? yes i was surprised no porta- potty anymore because they ripped the toilet right out and they painted lines for parking in the lot.
