Mariners are advised that the Brielle Railroad Draw Bridge across the Manasquan River, mile 36, at Brielle, N.J., will be maintained in the closed-to-navigation position to facilitate bridge maintenance. The Railroad bridge will remain in the closed position from 5 a.m. on December 7, 2024, through 5 a.m. December 9, 2024, and alternative dates from 5 a.m. On December 14, 2024, until 5 a.m. on December 16, 2024, if needed. The bridge will not be able to open for emergencies. The navigation channel directly under the bridge will also be closed to navigation due to the presence of a permanently moored work barge under the bridge. The on-site maintenance team can be contacted via VHF-FM channel 13 or via telephone at (732) 576-4556. At all other times, the drawbridge will operate in accordance with the operating regulations set out in Title 33 Code of Federal Regulations Part 117.733(a). Mariners should adjust their transits accordingly and should use caution when transiting the area. Please share this alert.
