Great stuff! Tagging programs provide valuable information about stock attributes and migration patterns. Surprised after 4 1/2 years the bass only grew 8". Thought their growth rate was significantly faster especially with younger age classes. If it's that slow, no wonder there's an issue with the stock and it highlights the importance of protecting the breeders until the problems associated with recruitment are corrected.

Stripers take time to grow, they are not a fast developing fish like a mahi for example. This is why when people say “we have a problem with the fishery” it isn’t the fish everyone is catching now, it’s the class of fish that we will have in about 10 years which at this rate will be non existent. I hope they put the moratorium in place for multiple years.

yeah, 8 inches in 4 1/2 years.. I would have thought stripers grew faster than that... That fish is a real homebody.. Likes the Jersey shore lifestyle I guess.
