Beautiful day on the water. It was lifey this morning with birds, baitfish, whales and big fish rolling on the surface but it was slow to start. Took a ride and found some birds and readings and started to catch. Caught some overs and slot size bass on jigs. The guys that worked their lures correctly caught fish! A couple of nice sized fluke were also caught and released
4oz AVAs with or without tails worked best but fish were also caught on shads and ronZ type lures.
Just a helpful reminder --If you are jigging on the bottom and only catching dogfish-- try casting and retrieving. Especially if you see fish on the surface and especially if you see the guy next to you catching fish while casting and retrieving. Don't be stubborn --be observant. And listen to the crew when they give you advice --they are out there everyday and they want you to catch fish.
