Went fishing 🎣 at Manasquan Inlet this afternoon on a warm, sunny day with a strong west wind and outgoing tide. It was very crowded because of the Veterans Day holiday and 70 degree temperature. Nobody was nearby when I started fishing 🎣 in the ocean on the jetty near the beach. Then 7 surfers 🏄 arrived and I caught and released one. They made fishing 🎣 very difficult, but I managed to catch, tag, then release an 8 lb 1 oz 29” winter skate that cut my hand with it’s spines and a 12” 12 oz windowpane flounder on a plain hook Ava A-17. At dusk I caught, tagged and released a 23” 4 lb 5 oz striped bass with a yellow ASalt Bomber. An inlet fisherman caught and released a lot of undersized blackfish with crab 🦀 bait on a tog jig. Squid 🦑 netters had 2 underwater green lights in the inlet at night in Point Pleasant. The salvage barge was anchored at Dog 🐕 Beach. Two boats 🛥 and two boat trailers were in the Municipal Parking Lot. I now have wounds on both hands that were inflicted by fish 🐟. Fishing 🎣 is a blood sport.
