https://youtube.com/shorts/kzNn4-K6ka... Today was opening day for the 2024 NJ Small Game Hunting Season and Coastal Zone Waterfowl Hunting Season. I didn’t hunt because of the 30 knot north wind small craft advisory, 2 PM high tide and large gash in my thumb. Went fishing 🎣 in 56 degrees Carnegie Lake this evening on a cold, sunny day with a strong north wind after a cold front. Threw out corn 🌽 for chum, then caught nothing with canned whole kernel corn 🌽 bait. Caught and released 5 white perch, a 9” black crappie and a 12” largemouth bass with a 1/32 oz twister tail jig on 2 lb test line. Saw the resident great blue heron catch and swallow 6 fish 🐟. Ten other fishermen caught fish 🐠. Canada geese migrated south on the north wind. When I stopped at a CVS on my way home, the customer ahead of me tried to cash a counterfeit $100 bill.

Thats a lot of knowledge right there, hunting fishing and crime.
Carnegie has been good to you this year. Is it low with the no rain?

Yes it keeps getting lower. If the water temperature keeps dropping, I’m going to catch nothing in Carnegie. I’ll try Manasquan tomorrow.
