Parsippany Bait and Tackle was a great service oriented store. Catered to salt and fresh water fisheries and sold live bait.

I chose Rays because some earliest sport ship memories there.
Meltzer's was great. Guess the Denville/Boonton shops were already gone before I got out here.

Couple others that are gone that I miss
Dover Sport Center on 46, had bait, decent tackle selection, guns, ammo, great old time shop
Fins & Furs? (not sure about the name) up on 23 in the Lakeland Bank plaza West Milford, was handy for the watersheds

This Round Valley tackle store was before my time.

I doubt that .as we are probably close in Age . You actually probably slightly older .lol

Pete had a store right on 22 by where merck is , then moved it to the Cokebury light at a later time .

Besides selling bait and tackle he also sold mercury motors and RV sized aluminum boats .

Was probably late 70’s through mid 80’s

Just more proof the deep blue state has been trying to eliminate the middle class for the last 50 years. Make rent and leases higher Ane make it more difficult for us to survive. I'm not trying to get political here. Lmao. The facts are the facts although this is just my opinion.

what was the name of the shop in Rockaway, they used to have a big trout tournament, stock tagged trout and prize giveaways.
It was located right by the river in Rockaway.

That was the owner of Potbelly Riverside Cafe, Rob Grow, who stocked it every year along with the Rockaway PBA. They stocked some brutes from the Main Street Firehouse to the falls on Jackson Avenue
