Ok, now that I have about 40 lbs. of thresher shark to eat, does anyone have any recipies other than lemon, butter, and pepper on the grill? Thanks!

It's great blackend.... Cut a nice steak around an inch and 1/2 thick.

Get a cast iron skillet and get it heated up till it's almost white hot.

Melt a 1/4 cup of butter and spread 1/2 of it on one side of the steak and sprinkle liberally with Blacken seasoning.

Place the seasoned side of the steak face down into the hot skillet and season the other side will it's cooking. Cook max of 4 minutes on each side and you are done...

Mix Some Soy, Wasabi Powder, Honey..

Put That Thresher Steak In There For About 1-2 Hours And Slap It On The Grill..

Make Another Small Amount Of The Same Mixture And Glaze The Thresher While On The Grill..

You Will Be Sucking The Fork And Licking The Plate After Dinner!!

Vanishing Thresher steaks ala Leif

1. Place 12 thresher steaks in a cooler

2. Call Leif to pick them up.

3. Open cooler.

4. Hand Thesher steaks to Leif.

Captain Fred Archer used to have a recipe for filleting and cooking the meat in the tail itself, made for some pretty interesting reading, try googleing it. I think he used a carpet knife to fillet the tail!

With the exception of Leif's, I plan to try those. Thanks!

Tangerine Thresher with Yams and Spinach

2 Pounds Thresher Shark, cut into four 8 oz. pieces

8 Ounces Spicy Tangerine Marinade (if you want the Spicy Marinade recipe you have to trade me 6 steaks) HAHAHA

6 Ounces Orange Juice

2 Bunches Fresh Spinach, trimmed and washed

1 Pound Yams, peeled and sliced into disks, about 1/4-inch thick

Kosher Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Marinate Thresher Shark in Spicy Tangerine marinade for at least 2 hours.

Cook Thresher Shark on preheated barbecue grill for about 5 minutes per side.

Place the remaining marinade in a small sauce pan, add Orange Juice and place on the grill, cook until it comes to a boil, set aside.

Season Yams with Kosher Salt and freshly ground Black Pepper, and grill for about 3 minutes per side or until tender.

Divide fresh Spinach evenly on four plates. Place grilled Thresher Shark and Yams on the spinach and top with the Spicy Tangerine Sauce.

Enjoy

Blacked is best, however, my friend grills it with Old Bay. It tastes like steak.
