Most of us know how dominant Chuck Many is at targeting huge stripers in NJ in the spring and fall, but in the summer he does something I think is really cool.... he goes out for the day and runs and guns seeing how many unique different species he can get in on day.

Our current record is 13 (but should've been 14) and it was an absolute blast! "Trash fish" suddenly become as important as a keeper. Ever see grown men celebratng an oyster cracker? 🤣

Joe threw together a pretty cool video of the last attempt at breaking 13 species. Here's the link if you want to check it out. Link below:

That’s pretty cool. I can appreciate that effort as I’ve tried the multi species thing in a day many times. Just got no where near 13 in a day!!!!

What species were in the 13? Curious to know.

We did it twice actually. I missed one trip (that trip is on the youtube video) from memory, i think it was: striper, fluke, seabass, porgy, skate, sea robin, smooth dogfish, chub mackerel, bluefish, croaker, spot, pigfish, oystercracker. In the video they got a few different ones but missed a few of these and ended at 13 again. Gonna try to break 13 this weekend i think.

Had porgies, sea bass, banded rudderfish, croakers, weakfish, sea robins, a blowfish, a bluefish, a cownose ray, a fluke, a sundial and a smooth dogfish for 12 species on the party boat last weekend.
