West wind today, north tomorrow then back to south for 10 days. Water will never warm up.

There's been other years that this has happened,we've seen it before.. The fact that quite a few Ling and even a few Whiting are still being caught by some of the Fluke boats is an indicator that the water just doesn't want to warm up, despite the hot air temperatures.

If what NOAA is saying becomes a reality it should become very interesting.
Should the wind shift and the entire US turns into an oven maybe we will see pompano and tarpon come mid August.

Forecast doesn't seem any different than normal or what we experienced in July. It says " moderate risk of excessive heat, 40-60%" for the northeast which would fall right in line with what we've been experiencing for years.

Except for the odd day when conditions line up, it’s looking like a repeat of last year when the best fishing was over a 3 week period in September at your favorite offshore spots (if we don’t get hit with storms).
