Went fishing 🎣 on the Manasquan Inlet north jetty this evening on a cool, sunny day with a strong south wind and low tide. It wasn’t crowded. Only one surfer 🏄*♂️ was there. Caught, tagged and released a windowpane flounder on my first cast of the day with a very old, stainless steel Jap metal. Then caught, tagged and released a 19” smooth nose skate with the metal. Caught, tagged and released a second flounder on the metal. Then caught, tagged and released an 18” skate with the metal. On my next and last cast of the day, I caught, tagged and released a 29” striped bass with my brother John’s homemade synthetic black and white buck tail teaser. After sunset, hickory shad jumped out of the ocean while chasing glass minnows. Caught fish 🐟 on my last 18 trips to Manasquan.

Those sundials would have gone home with me.. I think they are as good as winter flounder... better than Fluke IMHO... bob

Those are big sun dials. Do you get a decent fillet from them? Caught a lot over the years, never actually ate one.

That's one tag I wouldn't be surprised wasn't returned.
