Fishing in Ocho Rio Jamaica

Hey all. I'm headed there Thursday till Sunday. If anyone had been
there , is it worth just bringing a set up for the surf ? I just came back from.mexico 2 weeks ago and did good from the beach the few mornings I was there.Everything I'm reading says Jamaica is over fished so just seeing if anyone has been and had any luck. Thanks in advance , Richie

Just be careful, wife and I have been there many times. Last trip we were robbed on the beach as were in the water. Cell phones and some personal belongings were all gone. And yes, we were in an all-secured area with security. Island is beautiful but the crime is out of control. Done with Jamica.

Haven’t been in many years but watch your stuff on the beach. Last time down there they had a dog they trained to do their dirty work and steal shoes, bags etc and run them back to their trainers. Hard to believe but that’s how it is down there if you drop your guard.
