I decided to leave my boat at the barn today and do some fishing with Capt Scott on the Prowler. At first we headed out to the end of Ambrose where a small fleet was already fishing. After about a hour of fishing and catching mostly small fluke with a few keepers mixed in Capt Scott decided to make a move out of there. It certainly was the right move. Once we got to the second spot it was none stop action of real nice size Fluke. The bite lasted close to 3 hours with at least a half a doz Fluke between 4-7.5 lb on the boat plus keepers for everyone .Most of the bigger fish where caught on jigs with Gulp. This was the best trip on a Party boat I had in years. As far as I know everyone caught there limit and released plenty of nice fish. The Prowler is a great boat with good service. Joe the mate made sure we all had bait and whatever else we needed to catch fish. I'm gonna try to get out there again tomorrow before the storms move up the coast. Go now if you can Fluke fishing is on fire!

Thanks Gerry. I'm gonna take a ride down there tomorrow and go fishing on The Prowler again! This bite is insane and who knows what the fishing is going to be after "Lee" comes up the coast. Hopefully nothing and we can continue to catch these fish till the season ends! Tight lines!

Yep going to be interesting to see what if any effect Lee is going have on Fluke fishing... For those of you new to Fluking, it's usually a major storm at the tail end of the season that triggers their migration offshore.
In any case, Fluke is closing down on 9/27 so what's left to fish for? Current regulations have us shut down on Seabass until 11/1 and Blackfish is at one per person and does not go up to 5 per person until 11/16.
Would be nice if we had at least something worth fishing for to fill the void and the powers to be would take these voids into account when setting the regulations....

The prowler is a great party boat, I don't always catch fish but those guys absolutely keep trying if the bite isn't good. Plus the boat is always clean.

Gerry: FYI
Seabass reopens 10/01 @10 fish @12.5" Oct 1 to Oct 31 then goes to 15 fish from Nov 1 to Dec 31. Hopefully there will be "inshore" C bass around at 12.5" in Oct!

They will also help people who are new at fishing and show them how to catch fish! I mostly fish on my own boat 90% of the time but when I want a change of pace I go on the Prowler. Fishing has been slow at times like on all boats but I can say I have never been skunked! Tight Lines!
