PROWLER 5 OCEAN FLUKE REPORT 8/26

The day started out with heavy rain at the dock and on the way out, but it turned out to be a beautiful day on the ocean. We had a pretty darn good day with the keeper fluke. We also had a boat limit of nice big ocean sea bass. Mr and Mrs Kim were back again, each had their limit of fluke. Mrs Kim took the daily pool weighting 5lbs 9oz. Had a few other limits, and many guys with 2. Roy and Roy Jr joined and a couple beauties each. Lenny from Staten Island had two, along with Dwayne having 2 as well. Several others had two as well. Had a decent amount of great people considering the rain. All in all, a good day of fishing, with everyone heading home with fish. Do not miss out, as fluke season is coming to a close shortly. Capt Jack will be at the helm tomorrow.
Thanks, Capt Scott

Some happy customers there Capt. Love you're reports, good to see a nice mix of fish coming over the rails. Even though the slot in NJ is way too narrow and not popular with more seasoned anglers, it's nice to see fares going home routinely with a fresh fish dinner after an enjoyable day on the water. I know a lot of anglers are upset about the slot but it's made a difference in my opinion to party boat catches and the average angler being able to harvest a few fish for their efforts. The amount of breeders over 18" that have been released as well should have a positive and substantial impact on future recruitment which is exactly what this fishery needs.

Great report!

No they are not! At least more anglers and families are going home with a meal and enjoying the experience of a nice day on the water.
