Got out for a few hours with Jakesdad and crew this morning. Henry continues his August streak of stellar fluking. We had steady action every drift today up to Ronnie's 8 lber. The photographically challenged remain off camera. Once again we started fishing by ourselves and got mugged by the Belmar fleet

Conditions conditions. Fished yesterday and today had a good drift both days. Water yesterday 72 today 64 to start and a north tide upped it to 70.5. Found an incredible spread of fish from 30 foot out to 65 feet.
Constant quality short action of 16 inch fish with enough keepers to keep us in the same area. Ron had an 8 today and I had a 6 yesterday.
Nice breeze both days and never needed more than a 3 oz jig.
Don’t normally fish back to back days but with yesterday we had to go today.

You fellas are dialed in. If I could fish for just a few hours and have those results I'd be fishing back to back days too...
What did they eat?

Spearing and gulp. Gerry. Larry is the youngest of my crew, the rest of us all
Are part of the over the hill gang of which I am the most junior.
Fish are nearby and are chewing. This is what we wait for, and the weather finally cooled off none of us tolerate the heat

Thanks for the follow up Henry and way to get it done! Yeah the heat has been brutal and I can't tolerate it either. Not bad on the water but when your back at the dock cleaning fish and the boat, it's like being in a sauna. Last time out first thing I did when I got back was remote start the car and let cool off while I was cleaning up.
