Monday bluefin and cobia

Went for an afternoon trip to the inshore bluefin grounds. Glad we did because from the reports, the morning was slow with the boat traffic.

Loaded up on live squid and started making some drifts. Had 2 cobia swim under the boat and 1 of them made the mistake of eating a pitched bait. First cobia for me was very cool.

Last drift of the evening got our ticket punched. Live squid at 50ft got smoked. Hour later stuck a 100lb or so bluefin. Great trip.

Nice report! Hope this fishery holds up. Nothing better than fresh Bluefin steaks black and blue and fried or grilled Squid. Heck I’d be satisfied with some Squid.
