PP Elks Late report

Went out again for the PP Elks Tourney with the usual gang. Keith, Glenn,Larry, Steve, George and myself. Guess we have doing this tourney for 10 years now.
Placed in a couple of them and always look forward to it and enjoy the crew and usually a good day out on the water.

This trip:
NW winds a little higher than predicted made a choppy sea on the grounds east of PP. Add a strong current below and fishing was a mixed bag of rigs from light jigging for some to 6-8ox sinkers and chicken rigs for others. Gulp in variety of colors plus many strip baits of Robin, Macks, Squid etc and whole baits of squid and spearing all in the mix.

We didnt find anything over 24" but ALL got their limits of nice flatties, seabass and a boat limit. NSB Capt and Crew did a great job keeping us in the rough stuff around 40 to 60 ft all day.

Never know how many more trips anyone has so GO out fishing with friends and enjoy this great NJ fishery.

Sounds like the conditions could have been better but you guys made the best of it. Would be great if they could run them like they do the offshore tournaments, 5 days and you can fish up to 3 of them.
