NY has updated their Striper regs effective immediately: https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/7894.html#Fishing. Legal NY fish must be 28-31".
HEADS-UP::: This means that NJ fishermen, with legal NJ fish 28-37.99" onboard, must avoid NY waters when returning to their NJ berth.
Question::: Will NJ comply with the ASFMC mandate by 7/2??
Opinion::: Neighboring state fishing reg differences are intolerable, it's nearly impossible to know every reg in every bordering state, it's nearly impossible to discern state water boundaries.... I feel it's time for uniform regs,,, unfortunately NJ will wind up getting the short end of that stick when it comes..
