Took 81 years old brother Joe fishing in Manasquan Inlet this evening on the incoming tide. He caught 2 bluefish on teasers. Weather was cloudy and cold with a strong southeast wind after the full moon. Two intruders were in my spot for the first time this year. Tried a new spot. There was too much sand there. Hooked a bluefish after an hour and a half of casting but it bit off and escaped with my teaser. Then I caught, tagged and released a bluefish on an Ava A-17. Soon after that, I caught, tagged and released a second bluefish on a teaser. Then another bluefish bit off and escaped with my teaser and Ava jig. Caught, tagged and released my third bluefish with my brother John’s homemade synthetic buck tail teaser. The two intruders came over from my old spot, then fished to my right in my new spot. They didn’t catch anything there. Caught bluefish in my last 10 consecutive trips to the inlet.
