Lehigh River, Luzerne County, May 28, 2023
Water: ideal depth and flow for trouting (although USGS says the river is low), mostly clear, did not have thermometer but guessing 60 degrees.
Sky: cloudless
Air temperature: low 70s
Time: 1:00 - 6:45 PM
Bait used: #2 Blue Fox spinners, 1/6 oz. or 1/4 oz. Thomas spoons
In a little under six hours, I caught 9 trout, a dozen 6-8-inch smallmouth bass and half-a-dozen rock bass. Good numbers, but nothing of bragging size. Fish were relatively aggressive considering the lack of clouds and shade on the water.
Note to self: bring sunblock next time you go trouting! My skin is paying the price.
Also attached is a photo of the sign erected by Warren Township at Dealaman Pond commemorating my father. (https://www.njfishing.com/forums/member.php?u=35406)
