Gale warning, schmale warning. Moon phase and tides are right. Only 10 knots sustained at home, in the headwaters of the Raritan. Just a 40 minute drive to the Bay.

Put the kids down. Gear in the bed. Both rods spooled and blood worms out of the fridge. Just a 40 minute drive to the Bay.

Bye sweetie.

I hit the road.

Parked. Ok, 40 knots without the gusts. Flags are making quite a racket. White caps around the pier and waves crashing over the bulkhead. Was that yesterday’s forecast I read?

Might as well give it the old college try.

Braid frays on god knows what. Switch rods and cast again. Wind pulls out line and the spool closes mid flight. Fancy paddle tail I bought last season is gone. Those worms will live to see another night.

At least the fried calamari at the pub was good.

Too funny, we all have days like this.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, more of us (than care to admit it) have been there, done that, one way or another. Still, it elicits a smile. Better days/nights are always ahead...

It's so f'ed up you that laugh at it later. But NOT while its happened TO YOU though.

Makes a funny story later.

Glad you all could appreciate!

Icing on the cake is that I picked up stomach flu at the pub that night (not food poising). The gift kept giving. :D

Here’s to getting back out there for the new moon next week.
