Great low tide last week in Maine. Group of us went to the local beach to fill up on surf clams. Great for chowder, great bait. Best part is there are a few beaches up here that anyone can dig. No residency requirement, no license requirement. You are allowed 3 bushels of Hen Clams per day, which is almost five 5 gallon buckets. You just have to call the hotline make sure there's no health related closures.

In the Mid-Atlantic, can you clam without a license? Do you use clams in the surf? Most of us use worms, clams or mackerel.

I went with a friend, we had a blast.

In NJ you need a clamming license.

That was a cool video !!! My Dad taught me how to clam in the 1950's.
I'm much better at it today. I purge Mine with red pepper flakes, with Bay water for a minimum five days. Then eat them RAW. Thanks for the video.
