Went ultralight jigging in a frozen Central Jersey Lake this afternoon on a cloudy, cool day with a strong southwest wind. Got the last parking spot. More than 30 fishermen were there. Was fortunate to be able to fish near my spot in the huge crowd. Some fishermen were fishing in water holes in the ice. Fish were on the ice near the holes. Eagles were happy. Lucky for me that my spot wasn’t covered with ice. I caught and released 16 white perch including a double and 13 yellow perch with Walmart red worm halves on two gold hooks and an unpainted 1/32 oz leadhead jig on 4 lb test line. Landed 808 fish in 27 trips with 4 containers of worms 🪱 this year in the same spot. I let the unemployed landscapers use my net for a big white crappie again.
