The Gambler shoved off at 7:30 with a very light crowd to below freezing temp and a North West wind. There was no swell To speak of and other than The cold the conditions were good. Capt. Mike turned North and did some looking around. We saw some sporadic bird life and read some bait. We caught a few bass but not like it had been. Put a couple of slots in the box and released some shorts. The bite we had died quickly so Capt. Mike turned South. We scratched a few more fish with each move South. We started to see some bird play and the fishing got more steady. The temp rose into the 40s and it was quite bearable. We had steady fishing until three horns with a boat limit of slots and keepers. Grandson Chris caught 13 Stripers and I caught 11 only retaining our limit. We caught on Crocs but swimshads did the most damage. The bass had peanut Bunker in their stomachs. I would like to thank Capt. Mike for sailing so short and for John, Chris, and Steevo for doing their usual good job. There are still plenty of fish around so don't put up the rods up yet.

Thanks for the report, Pete

Still good striper fishing and the Gambler plans to fish for them at least until the end of December. Last year we had good bass fishing into the first week of January!

Tomorrow looks like poor weather but weekend inshore fishing should be fine.

Cool- we have enough to sail tomorrow for stripers. Anyone want to hit it up with us? Tons of room, hot coffee and some famous Gambler Dogs for lunch. Ayone else in? CL
