Absolutely epic day yesterday. I knew it was going to be an amazing day when fin-s surprised me in the parking lot with pounds of fresh bluefin that he & Tats caught. The original plan was to toss over the chum bag & target blues, bones, albies & spanish. Well plans change, day before the trip Jerry found mother load of porgys so at the dock he said "we are going to go to where i found the porgys yesterday, there was blues & bones around there too." We steamed out to the cockolla ledge & had pretty nice conditions to start so everyone dropped down & was greeted with some beautiful hubcap scup! Only had a couple blues & chub macks out there & no sign of albies or bones .

After conditions started going to sh*t, Jerry steamed us way back in to some anarchy with 3-5lb blues terrorizing rainfish. They were picky though & wouldn't eat the jigs & we only landed a handful so Jerry steamed even further to the motherload of ocean snapper blues. Schools of em that looked like bunker pods just eating anything that was dropped in the water. Brown sharks everywhere as well & yours truly landed a beautiful spanish mackerel. We limited out super fast & we went looing for some triggers.
Everywhere jerry went sea bass were insanely thick anywhere from pins to 15inchers. After this Capt said lets go get some tog. Jerry set 2 & we dropped crabs down. I didn't bring a tog rod so i did the jig thing........ well boy was i glad i did because it was the key to catching the biggest porgy's i ever saw inshore. Ripping drag 14-17inch porgy's incredible fun .Was like snapper fishing in Florida! Justin said I landed 90 I'm guessing somewhere between 60-80. I also went #orl on blues, & landed 10 tog with 1 keeper so I ended the day with a limit of 3 species. The only time the tog would bite was when the porgys chilled for a little bit as soon as those savages came back it seemed like the tog & even the sea bass headed for safety! These porgys fought harder than a keeper tog, people do not give scup the respect they deserve.

Devon had an incredible 8 specie day including a new 1 for the list with a cownose ray! Frankel got a fluke on a crab & had his best tog day ever. Also Orr witnessed me being physically accosted by Vince as he choked me for absolutely no reason! Phil had the biggest scup of the day over 3lbs.Daly had a cownose ray hooked that turned to a 17lb tog after it broke him off. Poppa Kurtis let me have my day in the sun & allowed me to be high hook & catch the only spanish mackerel.

We will never be able to thank Jerry, Shawn & Justin enough for this day & all the others. Yesterday is going down in the books with the bonita day, hpv wreck, whale live lining, lingomania,pb tog day, sand wreck, knife fight, & zagorskis spot tog day. Just absolutely incredible. When i booked my 1st charter 13yrs ago with nsb, I told jerry & wayne i do not care what we target I just wanna catch alot of fish & the more species the better, 13yrs later to this day we go for what's biting best & you should no that when you sign up for a murray trip by now. If you were scheduled on here & did not go because you feared bluefishing you may of missed out on a once in a lifetime trip.
