First of our 2 annual Sept Fluke trips. Well worth the effort as there are fluke around even after a blow. Had to hit a few spots but conditions were good and fish were around at each spot. Amazed ( not really) that there were literally only 3-5 boats out there and 1 was trolling. I sure hope MRIP takes into account the amount of "effort" trips are at an all time low!
Anyway Capt did his usual job and we ended up with 24 Keepers and just a fun time all around. Standard Gulps, jigs, chicken rigs without gulps all caught so it was just your personal preference. Robin strips worked best for me but albacore / mack and bluefish strips worked as well.
Robins , bluefish and a couple of ribbon fish were in the mix as well as some beautiful seabass that had to go back.
Back at it Monday the 19th for the flattys and then waiting for seabass to open.
Catch em up!
