Things are really looking good with some nice blue water in the Mudhole all the way out to the Hudson Canyon in the 1st shot. Temps in the Mudhole in mid 70s and close to 80 in the Hudson in 2nd shot.
Think I'm going to burn a vacation day or 2 next week and poke around the Mudhole.

Was out yesterday again....The MH in closer had warmer water and as we ran further south it got a little cooler per the sat shot. Didn't do as well yesterday....4 guys on the boat and managed only 4 fish. 2 of them 10+ and 2 schoolies again.

There was great water waaaaay east towards Veatch and Hydro that hopefully slides west. Been keeping a close eye on things and prepared for "the call" lol...

Check out the chlorophyll chart too Gerry. This time of year when the temperature breaks are not as pronounced the chlorophyll breaks can be a key factor.

For sure Brew the first shot I attached was a chloro shot, a little patchy because of cloud cover but you can see there are definitely patches of blue in the Mudhole.

10 plus is nice but even the chickens are fun. Love seeing them light up, nothing like it!

Ok i see it now Gerry looks good. You reminded me of a trip we had some years back when I was always hellbent on looking for the cleanest water. We were trolling west of the Chicken on the clean side of a break and not catching. Eventually we started moving further into the green and started picking up some Yellowfin if we went further into it we got covered up with Bluefish, but when we stayed in the mix about a mile into the dirty water it was good. I called in a friend who was very good at the offshore game and he later told me he thought there was a horizontal break there with blue water underneath a layer of dirty water. Sad to say I'm not able get offshore much these days so I will be looking forward to seeing you post an epic Mahi catch with a nice bonus Wahoo.

Remember to lash your outfits to the boat, with enough slack to start the fight if you have trouble with the clips
Edit: I heard of a crew that had a dangling rod off the outrigger… and then it wasn’t…
