I understand the rules are the rules but what I can't understand is why some of the sponsored boats on this page and some nonsponsored boats out there keep posting pictures of their customers breaking those regulations. Whether it is a NY boat which their limit is 4 fluke at 18.5" there are constant pictures of any individual not just 1 in the picture but many different people on different post pictured with 6, 7, 8 fish for 1 person when the law is 4 per trip. Now NJ regs are royally screwed but in the same sence why post these pictures of people holding 3 fish all over 18" when they are legally allowed only 1. Also I get it the regs are for the paid fares for the boat so maybe not everyone caught their 18" fish same as NY people holding 7 or 8 fish whatever it's for the boat not everyone catches but why put yourselves out there for this when the rules are the rules. Anybody wanna put their feedback in I would love to hear what others have to say about this. Thanks

Party boats are not regulating what everyone is keeping. That’s a joke. At the same time I’m sure if it’s over 18 it definitely goes in the box. Also it doesn’t make much difference bc most fish over 17” are still females. Same problem, different year with much less fish than previous years. Gee I wonder y? Lol.

I for one think many shots showing more than a single limit, are because 2 or more anglers put their catch together for a single shot... Maybe I'm wrong, but any party boats i have been on want NO part of exceeded bag limits or undersize fish. Its their ass in a sling along with their fares when some state employed lackey busts the angler for"poaching"... They don't want the headaches, they have enough problems these days staying in business.. IF folks are exceeding the limits and are taking pics of their illegal take and posting them, I would say they are acting VERY foolishly, and are taking pretty stupid risks, and for what reason??.. To show what great fishermen they are??.. Doesn't make much sense if you ask me, and I personally have a higher opinion of the average fisherman's intellect.... bob

I don't care about rules that don't make sense, but I don't post photos of myself breaking them.

Look at this - people ganging up about the new regs. Do you all have super vision and can tell 17” from 18”? Are you clairvoyant and can tell from the pic how many people caught them? ? Do you realize the person taking the pics was also fishing? I’m not sure what you the mission is with this post but to keep people from doing reports and helping us all out

You should be far more concerned that the fishing industry has been seriously decimated by fake science and payola regulations. A person keeping a fish that is 1/4 inch too big or to small as per FAT, FAT regulators whose income is derived from destroying businesses and recreation (think weakfish regulations which are really destructive to both....winter flounder etc.) is not hurting anyone while these FAKE, FAT, GREEDY, POLITICAL Regulators destroy everything in sight while taking vacations every year when so many others haven't taken vacations in years due to the regulators incompetence.

The politicians behind these "regulations" most certainly keep everything they want....how do you think we got into over $100 Trillion of debt? Debt for us - the most non-woke pubilc on earth....but purely stolen spoils for the globalist politicians.......Phil Murphy is most certainly one of them for anyone who needs an education.
Who do you think causes more damage in this country and worls? A kid who can now only keep three snappers? Or the lying, stealing, China funded politicans who are stealing everything in sight...and things not in sight.
Wake up everyone! Who's side are you on??

I'm not ganging up on anyone it's just common sence that some people lack especially the sponsored boat captains on this site. They all know the rules and what the regulations are and yes I get it for advertising purposes they post the pictures of certain customers having a banner day but in my opinion it's stupid for them to take a picture of their fillet table with 1 customer and 8 fish that they are proudly standing in the pict for when they are ovesouly over their legal limit for the day smdh everytime I see this and even with the post it states this person had a great day well my question is what gives them the right to keep over their legal limit for the day and why do the captains allow them to post this?

Merle, I post just about every day on this site, not many Sponsored guys do...I sure as hell hope you are not referring to my Post's or pictures...If you think for a minute that NJ fish & wildlife doesn't monitor this site and follow up, your out of your mind..Guys were here 2 weeks ago just checking up. Why in Gods name would I post pics of illegal fish? Have to been an idiot, wouldn't you say? Sad that it's come to this...45 years of my life's work, yes, I want to jeopardize that now! How many times did you go to DC, did you donate to any of the groups trying to make a difference or are you just that self righteous? Just fish & enjoy life my friend.

In general as a whole there is alot of people doing this between the fishing community and it just doesn't make sence to me why people would put their selves out there like that

Most people follow Party Boats because they don't know shit and are to lazy to find there own spot. They depend on the reports from the for hire Capts. but hate them because they take pictures and catch all the fish LOL ---LMFAO!!!!!!

Party boats follow me when I fish on the Manasquan and Barnegat Inlet north jetty for early season bluefish. I had headboats stop, then fish where I was fishing. Not fun when they catch my line and my fish escape.

You are very naive' if you think it doesn't happen.. I was on Weaks once many years ago all by myself in a spot where they shouldn't be, and there was not another boat in sight,, That is until a well known [at the time], and well respected party boat full of fares came barreling into the small area I was fishing, right alongside my 16 footer, and diamond jigs started flying all around... that was the end of that... I was pissed at the time, but of course now realize they were just trying to get a few fish for the fares on a real slow day. I WILL say, that for every time a head boat
" mugs " a bite for someone, that a hundred [or more] head boats get mugged.. We are in an area with 40 million people having easy access to the NY Bight fishing grounds,, Its every man for himself, and yes there is a LOT of mugging to be found on a daily basis...bob

I was indeed!,,, lol... That was probably around I dunno, 1980, 1981 or so.. Whitey was still around, and I think still piloting the miss take II at that time. Not sure.. Never held it against him, he has to put his fares on fish if he can,but I could NEVER figure out how he found me all alone on those fish... He just appeared on the horizon, and steamed straight at me running as hard as that old boat would go.. he must have had some seriously powerful binoculars...I surely miss those days.... btw, he DID put those weaks down, and ended the bite! It was mid morning if I recall correctly...bob

Common Bob! One of the best bay fishermen of all times had his binocs on you! Maybe he was in that area the day before, found the fish and was heading back to it.....the bite probably died with the change of tide, not one boat coming into the area! Trust me, we don't search out the private guys! LOL
